Swedish manufacturer CAKE, known for its premium lightweight electric motorcycles, has expanded its presence in Asia with the opening of its newest flagship store, CAKE:site Seoul. The store, located in the heart of Seoul’s Gangnam district and adjacent to the Sinsa and Apgujeong neighborhoods, spans six stories and features a retail showroom, full-service center, and cafe. In collaboration with local partner Kolon, this new addition to the CAKE:site family marks a significant step towards the company’s goal of promoting zero-emission mobility across the globe.
Seoul was a natural choice for CAKE, given its recognition as a leading city in technological innovation and its commitment to sustainable living. The six-story CAKE:site Seoul building is located in the lively and trendy Gangnam area, adjacent to the Sinsa and Apgujeong neighborhoods.
The structure is a stunning blend of modern design, a reflection of South Korea’s contemporary and artistic lifestyle. The building will house a retail showroom, a full-service center, and a cafe, providing an immersive experience for customers. As our readers already know, CAKE has an impressive lineup of models that cater to a variety of riders, from youth models to racing models.
CAKE has been leading the way in customizable model platforms by introducing specialized variants for unique requirements, as exemplified by the award-winning Ösa and Kalk. The Ösa offers a distinctive modular platform that allows riders to personalize their ride, while the Kalk is available in several variants designed for specific purposes, such as the Kalk AP (Anti Poaching) and the Kalk Race.
Furthermore, CAKE presents the CAKE Makka moped, an agile and versatile ride intended for daily use, available in eight standard configuration bundles, as well as a build-it-yourself option. Additionally, the Åik, a utility e-bike, is part of the company’s professional “work series” and specifically crafted to cater to the needs of working professionals who depend on two-wheeled transportation to meet their demanding lifestyle requirements.
Stefan Ytterborn, Founder and CEO of CAKE, expressed his excitement about opening the company’s first flagship store in Asia. “Electric two-wheeled transportation is the future of urban mobility, and I’m thrilled to bring CAKE to a city that is at the forefront of electrification efforts both from a lifestyle and government policy standpoint,” he said.
The CAKE:site Seoul will offer test rides of the company’s range of electric motorcycles, allowing customers to experience the thrill of riding these eco-friendly machines firsthand. The third-floor cafe with a terrace will also serve as a hub for the CAKE community of owners and prospective customers.
Kyung Jae Min, Kolon Group, shared his thoughts on the partnership between Kolon and CAKE. “Today marks a significant milestone in our journey towards sustainable mobility as we celebrate the partnership between CAKE and Kolon and CAKE’s official launch in South Korea,” he said. “By joining hands, we enhance our ability to provide seamless and efficient transportation solutions to our community and affirm our shared commitment towards building a greener and more sustainable future for generations to come.”
