Jett Lawrence was crowned the 2023 AMA Pro Motocross National Champion in the 450MX class at the 2023 Unadilla National. Lawrence is undefeated in his rookie year and clinched the title with two rounds remaining, having won 18 of 18 motos.
Lawrence held off Chase Sexton and then Dylan Ferrandis in the first moto. Sexton fell on lap 13 of 16, and Ferrandis closed to within two seconds at the checkered flag but never showed Lawrence a wheel. Lawrence breezed to victory in the second moto, finishing a comfortable nine seconds ahead of Sexton, who had a 13-second gap over Ferrandis.
Sexton continued his string of P2 overall finishes, having been the runner-up in every race he has contested in the 2023 AMA Pro Motocross National Championship Series.
Ferrandis took the final podium position. Adam Cianciarulo went 4-6 to take P4 overall, a point ahead of Aaron Plessinger’s 5-5 performance.
The series resumes next week at Budds Creek Motocross Park in Mechanicsville, Maryland, with the Budds Creek National. Check out our 2023 Pro Motocross Television Schedule for viewing details.
