Ola S1 Electric Scooter Catches Fire Details –
Electric two-wheeler maker Ola Electric said on Sunday(29 Oct 2023) said the company’s investigation into the incident of an Ola S1 catching fire in Pune has revealed that aftermarket parts used in the scooter led to a short circuit resulting in the fire.
The company also confirmed that the battery of the vehicle is intact and functional. In addition, it informed that “the customer is safe and unharmed”.
On Saturday(28 Oct 2023), a user had shared the video of the incident on X, mentioning that the model of the scooter was Ola S1, which caught fire, and the incident happened near the parking lot of DY Patil College in Pune’s Pimpri Chinchwad area.
The news was first reported by Pune Mirror. The video shows heavy smoke coming out of a scooter while the fire brigade team using a water hose to control it.
While no casualties reported were reported, the scooter was severely damaged.
