Kawasaki, as the world’s first motorcycle manufacturer, has recently unveiled its new hybrid motorcycle Ninja 7 Hybrid. Continuing from this previous model, Kawasaki is proud to unveil the new Z7 Hybrid – the world’s first hybrid naked bike.
This innovative bike is the world’s first hybrid naked bike. It uses the same groundbreaking technology as Kawasaki’s Ninja 7 Hybrid. The Z7 Hybrid is powered by two sources: a 451 cc Parallel Twin engine with 59 horsepower and an electric traction motor delivering 9kW of power. This makes it the most advanced naked bike ever made.
The Z7 Hybrid has been developed as a “strong” Hybrid, so you can choose from three types of drive, including a full electric mode. In this EV-mode, with an automatic transmission, it is possible to travel up to 12 kilometers.
In Eco-Hybrid mode, the electric engine works in tandem with the combustion engine to present the selection of either an automatic six-speed gearbox or manual gear switching through the shift “flippers” on the left handlebar.
The Sports mode unleashes the full potential of both the electric and petrol engine with the addition of an ‘E-Boost’ function. This Boost function provides a maximum system power for up to five seconds, granting unmatched acceleration that is akin to a powerful 1000cc sports car.
Other innovations include the stationary stop, where the engine turns off when the motorbike is not in motion to save fuel, the automatic shift-position finder (ALPF) which – if activated – automatically selects first gear at a standstill, and a “Walk Mode” that makes it easier to maneuver forward and backward. This mode can also be used while on an incline.
By using a specially designed version of Kawasaki’s renowned trellis frame, the fuel engine, electric traction motor, and battery can be compactly mounted for an optimal weight distribution. In terms of styling, the Z7 Hybrid features the latest evolution of Sugomi design. The full-color TFT display is equipped with smartphone connectivity which can be linked to the Kawasaki Rideology app.
Starting from spring 2024, the new Z7 Hybrid will be available at Kawasaki dealers.
