Cars with an electric motor are popular with drivers in different countries, but not everyone is satisfied with the price of environmentally friendly vehicles. The American company Arcimoto has announced the start of sales of the Fun Utility Vehicle (FUV) electric car, which will cost much cheaper than famous competitors – though at the cost of some differences in design and construction.
The novelty with an unusual three-wheeled design reaches speeds of up to 120 kilometers per hour (75 mph) and is capable of driving up to 164 kilometers (102.5 miles) on a single battery charge. The basic equipment of the model includes heated seats, Bluetooth speakers, removable doors, lockable rear storage, and a charging cable. Customers can also choose a body-color when placing an order.
According to foreign media reports, on September 19th, US local time, Arcimoto began to deliver a Fun Utility Vehicle to its first customers in California, Oregon, and Washington. The company spent 12 years in the development of this two-person three-wheel electric reverse tricycle and now has put into retail production at the company’s plant in Eugene, Oregon.
One of the key features of the car is its price, which is $19,900. For comparison, the basic equipment of the popular Tesla Model 3 starts at $30,353 in the manufacturer’s online store. According to Arcimoto, 4,128 customers pre-ordered the new product. The vendor plans to release a series of specialized electric vehicles built on the same platform.
