The 2024 dates of The Quail motorsports events at Quail Lodge & Golf Club in Carmel, Calif., are set, and that includes The Quail Motorcycle Gathering.
The four-event schedule starts with The Quail Ride on Friday, May 3, 2024. It is an opportunity for people attending The Quail Motorcycle Gathering to get out on their own bikes—new or vintage—and enjoy the famously scenic routes in the Monterey Peninsula area along the coast of California. The Quail Ride is 100 miles long, starting and finishing at Quail Lodge & Golf Club. Lunch and dinner are included on the ride, which has optional side trips built-in.
The following day is the big enchilada—the 2024 edition of The Quail Motorcycle Gathering. This will be the 21st edition of this stories event, which features rare and collectible motorcycles displayed in a park-like setting—it’s a golf club, after all. More than 200 motorcycles, scooters, and bicycles will be displayed on the grass. When you get hungry or thirsty, food and beverage vendors are on hand to serve you. Later in the day, a fireside chat will include a special guest to talk about motorcycles and motorcycle racing. Tickets go on sale next month. We covered The Quail Motocycle Gathering in 2021.
Most of us also have four-wheeled vehicles, and The Quail has that covered as part of Monterey Car Week. The Quail Rally is the automotive equivalent of The Quail Ride, but it’s a bit longer, running from Monday, August 12, to August 14. The drive includes gourmet dining at various locations. You have to apply to participate, with applications being accepted in December.
After a day for rest, The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering convenes at Quail Lodge & Golf Club on Friday, August 16. There will be 17 new automobile models unveiled and countless classic cars on display, plus a few motorcycles. Competitive show categories include The Great Ferraris, Pre-War Sports and Racing Cars, Custom Coachwork, and The Evolution of the Supercar.
“We’re grateful for all of the support we have received over the last 20-plus years, which has propelled The Quail events as sojourns that bring people together to celebrate their motorcycle and automotive passions,” Quail Lodge & Golf Club General Manager Kai Lermen told us. “As preparations are already underway, our team is as inspired as ever to make 2024 the best year yet.”
