Honda Racing Corporation (Team HRC) dominated the first round of the 2024 FIM E-Xplorer World Cup in their home country of Japan, establishing themselves as a force to be reckoned with in the world of electric off-road racing. Despite being a new participant in this all-electric motorcycle series, Team HRC faced tough competition from teams who had a full year of experience in the previous 2023 championship season.
Robbie Maddison Racing (formerly known as Madwill in 2023) finished the weekend in a close second place with 131 points, only narrowly beaten by Team HRC. RMR’s riders Zaragoza and Germond put up a strong fight and pushed Team HRC until the very end. Just behind them, INDE Racing secured an impressive third place on their debut race, earning 121 points for the Indian-based team. This strong start sets a high bar for the rest of the season for INDE Racing to maintain their pace and performance.
Francesca Nocera and Tosha Schareina, part of the HRC team, competed against 14 other skilled riders in three separate races at Osaka’s Expo ’70 Commemorative Park. Despite the harsh weather conditions and various obstacles, they consistently delivered impressive performances. The Governor of Osaka prefecture, Hirofumi Yoshimura, braved the cold to join the enthusiastic crowd of 1750 motorsport enthusiasts who gathered at the park to witness the beginning of E-Xplorer Season 2.
After a thrilling conclusion to the first round of the 2024 FIM E-Xplorer World Cup, anticipation turns towards the upcoming second round in Norway during early May. All eyes are eagerly awaiting the return to Europe for this exciting event.
