We keep waiting for American Honda to bring the CB125R over to America. The original CB125 of the 1970s and ’80s is a classic just waiting to be revived, just as Honda’s miniMOTO 125s—the Monkey, Trail 125, Super Cub C125—mine the same era. Of course, the 2024 Honda CB125R that the Euros get to satisfy licensing restrictions for young and new riders features a considerably more sophisticated DOHC motor, but that won’t stop us from dreaming and prodding while reporting on updates.
New this year is a five-inch TFT display and matching switchgear. The new dash is required to meet the new Euro5+ standards, which require the dash to monitor the catalytic converter. The 2024 Honda CB125R also gets a new catalyst that keeps down noise and emissions for more of the life of the urban-focused motorcycle. You can read all about the last major CB125R update here.
While Honda engineers were satisfying the tailpipe sniffers, the folks in the design department came up with four new color combos for the £4249 motorcycle (On The Road Price in the UK). You can check out the colorfully named colors in the 2024 Honda CB125R spec sheet; in shorthand, they’re blue, red, white, and gray with contrasting chin fairing and radiator shrouds.
