The Indian 101 Scout is the flagship of the 2025 Indian Scout lineup we detailed a few days ago. However, there’s a less-expensive alternative to the hot-rod 101. The 2025 Indian Sport Scout gets by without the more powerful tune of the SpeedPlus 1250 motor, has just one front disc brake, and less sophisticated suspension. However, if you aren’t a demanding sport rider and like the style, the Sport Scout makes sense. Let’s look more closely at this new Indian.
- The 2025 Indian Sport Scout has a 19-/16-inch wheel combo with Metzeler Cruisetec tires. This is what you find on the 101 Scout, though the two models have different cast aluminum wheels—eight-spoke on the Sport Scout and five-spoke on the 101 Scout.
- The single 298mm disc brake uses a traditionally mounted two-piston caliper. This setup is used on the Sport Scout instead of the 101’s dual discs and radially mounted Brembo calipers.
- The only suspension adjustment on the 2025 Indian Sport Scout is spring-preload on the shocks. You don’t get the fully adjustable suspension and inverted fork found on the 101 Scout.
- You get the same 105 horsepower at 7250 rpm available on all 2025 Scouts, except the more powerful 101 Scout. All the new Scouts have a torque peak of 82 ft-lbs at 6300 rpm.
- The Sport Scout has the same fairing as the 101. However, Sport Scout does not get the 101’s deluxe headlight.
- The 2025 Indian Sport Scout is available in all three trim lines—Standard, Limited, and Limited +Tech; that’s nine choices! Check out our 2025 Indian Scout Lineup First Look story (link in first paragraph) for all the details. It’s worth knowing that the Limited boosts the price by $700 over the Standard, with the Limited +Tech a $1000 premium over the Limited. For comparison, the Sport Scout in Sunset Red 2-Tone Metallic with the Limited +Tech trim is $16,699, which is $1300 less expensive than the 101 Scout in Sunset Red Metallic with Graphics in the same top-of-the-line trim.
- Indian makes it easy to get started on customization. Indian has four Collections—Commuter, Stealth, Open Roads, and Overnighter—to personalize your Sport Scout to your needs. You can find all you need to know about the Collections in the 2025 Indian Scout lineup first look (again, scroll up to the first paragraph for a link).
- The 2025 Indian Sport Scout is a more affordable way to get a higher-performance Scout. You give away several expensive features to the 101 Scout. However, there may be features you don’t feel you need, and you’ll have $1300 (or more) in your budget for other personalization of the Sport Scout.
