The Italian company Tacita, exclusively producing in their home country, proudly reveals their latest 2024 line featuring 5 distinct models in 2 variations, offering a variety of customizable options. This range is the result of more than a decade’s worth of extensive research and development efforts.
Tacita has established its range with the T-Cruise line, which includes the Urban and Turismo models, and the T-Race line, consisting of the Enduro, Motard, and Motorally models. In the near future, we can also expect the release of the Discanto and Pitbike Maestro in 2025.
“We are ready with 10 different types of motorbikes between road and off-road, all already in production,” say Pierpaolo Rigo, founder and President of Tacita Electric Motorcycles and Luca Oddo CEO of the company. “We focused on this leap forward in order to achieve a higher standard on all models. Thanks to the introduction of cutting-edge technological innovations, such as the 5-speed gearbox, Tacita will contribute to a unique riding experience combined with the electric philosophy, winning over even the most demanding enthusiasts,” conclude Rigo and Oddo.
T-Cruise Line
The T-Cruise line, like all models from Tacita, is the product of technological research and testing in the most extreme conditions by TACITA FORMULA CORSA, the world’s first electric racing team. The T-Cruise line offers an electrifying twist on the classic cruiser concept and is available in multiple models: Urban S, R, and Turismo S, R, S-LR, and R-LR. The current production models come with either an 18 kWh or 27 kWh traction battery option. The T-Cruise is perfect for both long distance trips and city commuting, making it a great choice for bikers looking to embrace the world of electric two-wheelers without compromising style.
T-Race Line
Tacita’s technology is specifically engineered for high-level competitions, and it is the company’s extensive experience in this arena that enables them to create the most innovative vehicles. The first testing ground for Tacita was at the 2024 Dakar Rally, where their flagship vehicle, the Discanto, provided crucial feedback for the development of the T-Race 2024 line.
The T-Race is Tacita’s most popular and enduring offroad line, with a rich history of success. Originating as a prototype in 2012 at the Merzouga event, it was the world’s first electric motorbike to compete in a rally race, paving the way for the T-Race Rally’s triumph. Now, after its recent participation in the Dakar rally, Tacita proudly introduces the new T-Race Enduro, T-Race Motard, and innovative T-Race Motorally models.
The latest models embody a fusion of immense power and lightweight design. The fairing, measuring only 0.7 mm in thickness, is composed of a combination of carbon and ballistic Kevlar, providing unparalleled strength and flexibility. The Enduro and Motard options offer a traction battery capacity of 9 kWh, while the Motorally boasts an 13 kWh option. Despite its advanced features, these bikes weigh in at a mere 196 kg, making them the ideal choice for adventurous riders seeking a silent yet groundbreaking traveling partner on off-road excursions.
Unique technology
With 80% of the components produced in-house or directly owned by the company, there is a strong sense of security and independence throughout the entire production process. For the first time, Tacita also brings 5 unique technological advantages to an electrically powered motorbike:
- Each motorbike is equipped with a 5-speed gearbox, which optimizes performance and allows for increased range;
- Interchangeable batteries in the Motorally model with a replacement that can be done in 3 minutes;
- Liquid cooling and not air cooling, which prevents overheating, does not lose range and speed, and ensures the performance of each model;
- The Battery Management System (BMS), equipped with proprietary software, which produces benefits including increasing range and preventing overheating, a factor that often forces drivers to slow down considerably.
After careful consideration, Tacita has developed a design to accommodate all controllers using a 120-volt system. This specific choice offers an added layer of safety for drivers. All models boast a continuity power of 11kW and a maximum power of 34kW, making them suitable for A1 or B licenses. The 2024 motorbikes are currently available for pre-order on the website in Europe, with plans to release them in Canada and the USA by 2025. They will be shipped directly from the Poirino (Turin) headquarters to the new Tacita North America Head Quarter.
