In 2009, Aprilia shook up the World Superbike with its all-new V4-powered RSV4 superbike, writing the first chapter in what has become the model’s performance legacy. The RSV4 has since amassed seven world titles—three Rider and four Manufacturer championships—along with 44 WSBK race wins and 102 podiums. But, they say the first is always the sweetest; on July 26, 2009, Max Biaggi piloted the RSV4 to its first victory at the Brno Circuit during its maiden World Superbike campaign. Success breeds success, and Biaggi secured the RSV4’s first FIM Superbike World Championship the following season. That brings us to the 2024 Aprilia RSV4 Factory SE-09 SBK and Tuono V4 Factory SE-09 SBK special editions, which celebrate the Italian superbike’s first WSBK victory by featuring a livery inspired by Max’s mount.
Each limited-edition machine was unveiled to the public during the 2024 MotoGP Grand Prix of the Americas weekend in Austin by Aprilia Racing factory riders Aleix Espargaró and Maverick Viñales.
Mechanically, the RSV4 and Tuono V4 SE-09 SBK models are unchanged from their standard-production counterparts. The venerable V4-powered machines wield massive performance, with the RSV4 superbike touting a claimed 217 horsepower and 92 ft-lbs of torque, while the naked Tuono V4 prioritizes low-end and midrange performance with its 175 horsepower and torque peak of 90 ft-lbs. In either case, each of Aprilia’s V4-powered sport machines often find themselves toward the front of their respective categories, thanks to stellar chassis and competitive electronics packages.
Aprilia’s V4 Factory SE-09 SBK editions feature a throwback livery, draped in black and appointed by red and white trim on the upper fairing, fuel tank, and tail section. Other goodies come in the form of carbon fiber air ducts for the brakes and a carbon fiber front fender; both items are currently available in the Aprilia parts catalog for standard-issue Aprilia RSV4 Factory and Tuono V4 Factory models. Also, each model is numbered on the tank.
Availability in North America is slated for June 2024. The 2024 Aprilia RSV4 Factory SE-09 SBK has a price tag of $26,449, and the Tuono V4 Factory SE-09 SBK has an MRSP of $19,999.
