Jett Lawrence bounced back from last week’s crash and injuries at California’s Hangtown Classic to take the overall win at the 2024 Thunder Valley National at Thunder Valley MX Park in Lakewood, Colorado. Jett Lawrence went 2-1, swapping positions with his brother Hunter. Hunter’s Moto 1 win was his first 450MX moto victory. Hunter moves into the 2024 AMA Pro Motocross National Championship Series lead after three rounds, despite scoring no overall wins.
Justin Cooper, who led the opening half of both motos, has a 3-3 day for P3 overall. Justin Barcia returned to the overall top-five with a 4-6 result, putting him one spot head of Chase Sexton, whose falls limited him to a 6-5 day.
Sexton came into Thunder Valley MX Park with an eight-point lead over Hunter Lawrence and leaves six points behind Hunter. Jett Lawrence’s win catapulted him from P6 in the standings to P3, now 16 points off series leader Hunter. Cooper sits four points behind Jett and nine points clear of Aaron Plessinger, who is P5 in the standings after a 5-8 day for P6 overall at Thunder Valley MX Park.
The 2024 AMA Pro Motocross Championship Series resumes on Saturday, June 15, at High Point Raceway in Mt. Morris, Pennsylvania. Check out our 2024 Pro Motocross Television Schedule for viewing details.
