Chase Sexton extended his moto win streak to five with a 1-1 performance at Spring Creek MX Park to win the 2024 Spring Creek National. Sexton had to come from behind in both motos to secure the wins. With the 1-1 day, Sexton has extended his lead in the 2024 AMA Pro Motocross Championship Series to 13 points over Hunter Lawrence with four rounds remaining.
Lawrence led the first nine laps of 17 in the first moto until surrendering the lead to Sexton, who had passed Aaron Plessinger on lap 5. Justin Cooper led the first six laps in the second moto, with Sexton starting in P6. Cooper relinquished the lead to Lawrence on lap 7. Three laps later, Sexton passed Lawrence to take the lead, with Sexton having gone by Plessinger (lap 2), Dylan Ferrandis (lap 3), Jason Anderson (lap 5), and Cooper (lap 8). Sexton won the first moto by over 10 seconds and the second moto by nearly 13 seconds.
Lawrence went 2-2 for P2 overall, with Cooper’s 5-3 performance earning him the final podium spot over Plessinger (3-5). Anderson’s 4-4 day put him in P5 overall.
The series resumes on Saturday, July 20, at Washougal MX Park in Washington. It is the final race before the three-week summer break and the three final rounds of the 2024 AMA Pro Motocross Championship Series. Check our 2024 Pro Motocross Television Schedule for viewing details.
