It doesn’t matter whether you’re a PC, console, or mobile gamer, or like a little of all three—there are some compelling Prime Day gaming deals right now at Amazon. We are big gamers here at WIRED, and I’ve been combing through our many gaming guides—like the Best Gaming Headsets, Best Gaming Keyboards, and Best Game Controllers—to find the discounts worth pulling the trigger on. Tune in to our Prime Day live blog and our best Amazon Prime Day deals roundup for more.

We test products year-round and handpicked these deals. We’ll update this guide periodically throughout the sale event.

WIRED Featured Deals

If you buy something using links in our stories, we may earn a commission. This helps support our journalism. Learn more.

Gaming Headset Deals

With comfy ear cups, 7.1 surround sound, and ultralow latency through Logitech’s proprietary Lightspeed connection, this is our favorite wireless gaming headset. You also get Bluetooth, a 3.5-mm jack, and up to 50 hours on a single charge.

The HyperX Cloud Alpha Wireless headset (10/10, WIRED Recommends) is a little special. We were skeptical about HyperX’s claim of up to 300 hours of battery life, but this headset actually went longer between charges when we tested it. It’s also comfy, with great audio quality, and the mic is solid for team chat.

Whatever you want in a gaming headset, the Arctis Nova Pro from SteelSeries has it. There is a robust GameDAC with plenty of EQ features for customization and tools to mix sidetone, team chat, and game audio, so you can get the perfect balance. With two USB-C inputs, it’s easy to switch consoles. It is very similar to the wireless version (8/10, WIRED Recommends), which is also on sale. The wireless version includes swappable batteries, and the spare stays topped up in the OLED Base Station, so you don’t have to fuss about charging.

With planar magnetic drivers to produce accurate, immersive sound, these headphones are a little pricey, even with the discount. But they offer a detachable boom mic and an integrated mic, so you can choose. They are quite heavy, but feel durable and well made. You also get up to 80 hours of battery life on a full charge.

This older headset is super comfy, sporting plush ear cups, and it is light enough that you can almost forget you’re wearing it. There is support for 3.5-mm audio, Bluetooth, and Logitech’s own Lightspeed wireless connection. There’s also a ring of RGB lights along the outside.

Game Controller Deals

With a satisfyingly grippy texture, matte black finish, and plenty of customizable extra buttons, this is our top controller pick for Xbox gamers (though it also works with a PC). There are four rear flippers you can customize with up to 16 different controller functions.

Clip the on-page coupon to see the full discount, which brings the price down to $51. This is the controller I rely on for PC gaming, and it is a feature-packed pleasure with Hall effect joysticks (no drift), customizable back buttons, and a zippy 2.4-GHz wireless connection (Bluetooth is also an option). Best of all is the dock, which ensures it’s always charged up and ready to go (you get up to 15 hours from a full charge). If money is tight, the wired version is also on sale at $20 ($15 off), as is the 8Bitdo Ultimate C 2.4g Wireless Controller for $24 ($6 off).

If you want a sliding mobile controller with a cradle for your phone, the Backbone One (8/10, WIRED Recommends) is the finest option on the market. It’s so good it appears twice in our Best Mobile Game Controllers guide, and Backbone adds value with software designed to tie all your mobile gaming options together (if you can stomach the subscription).

Clip the on-page coupon to see the full discount, which brings the price down to $60. If you find small controls too finicky, this large sliding controller could be for you because the controller parts are sized just like a regular Xbox controller. It boasts Hall effect sticks and triggers, pass-through charging, a 3.5-mm audio jack, and two back paddles, and everything is fully mappable.

You can save a lot of money by opting for a wired controller, and you don’t have to worry about charging. Our pick is the GameSir G7 because it feels much like a regular Xbox controller but boasts Hall Effect analog triggers, customizable back paddles, a hair trigger mode, four rumble motors, and swappable faceplates that you can paint.

Gaming Keyboard Deals

This is one of our favorite mechanical keyboards—a new guide we launched to focus specifically on mechanical boards by WIRED contributor Henri Robbins, who is deeply ingrained in this space. Seriously, he pulls apart keyboards just to see how the manufacturer assembled them with each review. You might be surprised then to see that he liked the BlackWidow V4 (8/10, WIRED Recommends) board from a big-name brand like Razer. That’s because this is the company’s first real foray into the world of custom mechanical keyboards, and aside from the fact that opening the case voids the warranty, it’s a well-built board with hot-swap sockets, great tactile switches, and a metal-top case.

With color LEDs, a choice of switch types, and a built-in OLED display, the Apex 7 TKL is one of our favorite keyboards. Everything, including the wee display, is customizable. The TKL (tenkeyless) moniker means there is no 10-key number pad on the right, which can be a real space saver.

An older keyboard pick, this board features tactile switches and is compatible with most custom keycaps. This is a 96 percent keyboard, so there is a number pad. It may be made of plastic, but it feels durable.

The customizable wheel on the upper left side is a unique feature and can be useful for scrubbing through media or video editing. Media professionals will appreciate the presets for Adobe apps like Premiere, After Effects, and Photoshop.

Gaming Monitor Deals

If you crave an immersive PC gaming experience, a curved ultrawide monitor can provide it, and this QD-OLED display from Alienware (9/10, WIRED Recommends) is our favorite. Expect inky blacks, color accuracy, and HDR that pops. The 34-inch screen is big, but the 3,440 x 1,400 resolution ensures text is super crisp.

With a ton of features, including a 4K screen, an adjustable base with a VESA mount, and a built-in KVM switch, this is a great monitor for work or play. It’s super convenient if you have two different computers you’re using regularly.

If you don’t want to spend too much, this 1,440p LCD TFT display has a high enough resolution that text is crisp and details come through clearly. The 165-Hz refresh rate isn’t the speediest, but can keep up with most modern, fast-paced games.

Game Deals

Still from Final Fantasy VII Rebirth.Courtesy of SQUARE ENIX

It may not be the game we were expecting, but Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is a new high for the series.

Brutally difficult but deeply rewarding, this Demon’s Souls remake is worth a look for PS5 gamers.

With Final Fantasy XVI, Square Enix returns to a traditional fantasy-based setting: a world of magic, warring kingdoms, and otherworldly creatures.

This side-scrolling brawler is a fun blast of nostalgia that conjures memories of classics like Double Dragon.

Hack and slash your way through this action adventure as professional assassin Travis Touchdown.

More Gaming Gear Deals

The Meta Quest 3 (8/10, WIRED Recommends) reconstructs a full-color view of your surroundings with its external cameras, enabling a ton of fresh new AR games. High-resolution screens, upgraded controllers, and a sturdy headset strap that’s not sold as an optional add-on (like with the Quest 2) ensure the gaming experience on the Quest 3 is mighty fine. Read our Best VR Headsets guide for more.

The SteelSeries Arena 7 (8/10, WIRED Recommends) are some of the best desktop speakers you can buy. Two speakers and a subwoofer ensure immersive sound and deep rumbling bass. There are also built-in RGB LEDs to bring a splash of color to your gaming.

The Razer Kiyo X is our pick for the best webcam. With excellent white balance, color saturation, and snappy autofocus, this is all most folks need for video calls.

The HyperX Quadcast S (8/10, WIRED Recommends) is perfect for Twitch streamers because of the excellent audio over USB and the built-in RGB LEDs. There are also convenient features like a large tappable mute button and a gain knob built into the bottom of the mic.

Gamers crave fast internet connections and minimal lag, so they can download games quickly and play online without anything to cramp their performance. This Asus mesh comes under the gaming-focused ROG sub-brand and is the best Wi-Fi 6 gaming mesh on the market right now.
