Royal Enfield has its eyes set on the future. At EICMA 2024, it made a bold move into the world of electric motorcycles by launching a new dedicated brand: Flying Flea. The name pays homage to the lightweight and agile motorcycle produced by Royal Enfield during World War II, designed for parachute drops into war zones. This same spirit lives on in the new brand.
The first model in the Flying Flea range, called FF-C6, boasts a retro-futuristic design with a forged aluminum Girder fork reminiscent of bikes from the 1920s and 1930s. Its frame is also made from forged aluminum for a lightweight yet durable build, while the magnesium battery housing helps keep weight down and improve cooling.
The line also includes a scrambler-style variant known as “S6”. The FF-C6 offers customizable acceleration, braking, and regeneration settings, and can be updated wirelessly through Over The Air updates. It even features a smartphone key option for easy starting. Designed for city commuting, this Flying Flea model offers smooth and effortless acceleration along with cornering ABS for optimal stability on the road.
THE DROP
Our team, THE PACK, was extended a special invitation to attend the pre-launch event of Flying Flea, the new sub-brand for Royal Enfield’s electric motorbikes. We joined Managing Director Gert-Jan Rongen from Electric Motorbikes Netherlands at the Officine del Volo in Milan for a spectacular presentation. Also known as The Flying Factory, this venue has a rich history as a former aviation workshop and was the perfect setting for Royal Enfield’s EV launch. In this unique space where past and future seamlessly merge, we witnessed the unveiling of Royal Enfield’s first electric motorcycle – a symbol of bold evolution while staying true to the brand’s timeless spirit.
Unfortunately, the FF-C6 wouldn’t be available for purchase until 2026…
