Total Wireless, formerly known as Total by Verizon, is a prepaid, no-contract wireless provider with unlimited data covered by the Verizon 5G network. This Black Friday, new customers can get free phones when they switch to the Total 5G+ Unlimited plan at Total Wireless, with no promo code needed. The Total Wireless unlimited data, talk, and text plan has a five-year price guarantee, meaning it won’t get jacked up after a trial period, guaranteeing you get unlimited data for less than $30 a month. Total Wireless has also introduced unlimited data on Verizon’s 5G Ultra Wideband network that promises to be up to 10 times faster than the median download speeds of all other providers. This holiday season, WIRED has found some of the best ways to save money with these Total Wireless Black Friday deals.

Snag Black Friday Savings at Total Wireless

My phone bill is always way more expensive than I think it will be, and it doesn’t help that phone contracts can be confusing and difficult. Total Wireless makes it easy, with incentives like free items and price-lock discounts. Right now (through Jan. 8), when you switch to the Total 5G+ Unlimited plan, you’ll get four free Samsung Galaxy A54 5G phones.

Is Black Friday the Best Time to Buy a New Phone?

My job at WIRED is not only to test and write about a myriad of cool tech, but also to track prices and commerce patterns, so that we (your trusted WIRED fam) are ensuring you are getting the best price on all of the things we’ve been writing about. That’s why we run a near 24/7 cycle of the best Black Friday deals we find throughout the long weekend. With thousands of dollars in discounts available for Black Friday, it’s arguably the most popular time to buy electronics (especially phones), save big money, and start out the new year with a stylish upgrade.

Other Savings to Nab This Holiday Season

You’ll get 50% off when you bring your current phone—while still keeping your same phone number, and pay as low as $25/month for 1 line with Auto Pay on Total 5G Unlimited plans.

If you sign up to receive promo emails when you purchase a plan, you can save 15% on your first phone. As mentioned before, Total Wireless not only has some of the cheapest offers out there, this contract-free plan also offers unlimited data, talk, and text, a huge 5G network, five-year price guarantee, and you can even get Disney+ for free with select plans.

A lot of Total Wireless Black Friday deals last way past the holidays, like the new iPhone 16 available for as low as $829, through Jan. 30. Total Wireless also has a promotion for the Samsung Galaxy S24, offering it for only $500. First, you buy the phone for $680, and get $180 back in total after 18 monthly discounts. They’re offering a similar promo on Samsung Galaxy S24+, with a total of just $700 after 18 monthly service discounts (totaling $180). Although discounts run intermittently all year, Total Wireless Black Friday deals and holiday promotions will save you the most money on your phone purchases.
