As bagger riders become more comfortable with the performance aspect of their motorcycles, thanks to MotoAmerica’s King of the Baggers, tire companies are responding with appropriate rubber. The new Pirelli Diablo PowerCruiser tire brings high performance to baggers and cruisers by making it a part of the Diablo line.

Pirelli Diablo PowerCruiser Motorcycle Tire First Look: King of the Baggers

The Pirelli Diablo PowerCruiser tire features a slick shoulder to improve adhesion in corners. Additionally, the center of the tire has Pirelli’s proprietary lightning-bolt-style Flash design, straight from the highly regarded Diablo Rosso line of high-performance motorcycle tires. This gives an unbroken contact patch in the center when the tire is upright.

Recognizing that tuners are creating big V-twins that put out more torque and horsepower than ever before, Pirelli has designed the Diablo PowerCruiser accordingly. The PowerCruiser can handle the weight of a bagger or cruiser, as well as the triple-digit horsepower and torque output from the grunt-oriented engines.

Given that bagger and cruiser riders and customizers remain highly concerned with appearance, the Pirelli Diablo PowerCruiser was designed with Italian styling in mind despite the newfound focus on power output. Italy has its own entry into the high-performance cruiser world—the Ducati Diavel V4.

While the land-to-sea ratio favors rubber over siping, Pirelli hasn’t thrown in the towel for wet-weather performance, and touring riders should not feel excluded from the Diablo PowerCruiser. A Pirelli insider tells us, “This tire allows you to make the most of the potential of the most muscular custom bikes, offering stability in acceleration, braking, and cornering, even at high speeds, and plenty of grip even on wet surfaces, all combined with supplying mileage in line with tires that belong to this segment.”

We don’t have a list of available sizes for the Pirelli Diablo PowerCruiser motorcycle tire. However, we expect they will have tires compatible with the most popular bikes of the genre. Likewise, pricing and availability in the United States is yet to be determined.
