If you were thinking the Ninja 1000SX needed a power boost, you’re in luck. Meet the 2025 Kawasaki Ninja 1100SX ABS. Let’s review what Kawasaki did to make the 1000 into an 1100, along with a few other updates.

2025 Kawasaki Ninja 1100SX First Look: Price

  1. Kawasaki added 3mm to the stroke of the 1043cc Ninja 1000SX. The result is the 1099cc 2025 Kawasaki Ninja 1100SX. By going with a longer stroke instead of a larger bore, the 1100SX features more torque, delivering 83 ft-lbs of the good stuff at 7600 rpm—an additional foot-pound 200 rpm sooner than its predecessor. Kawasaki also narrowed the intake port and retuned the ECU.

  1. The transmission is updated to match the additional power. With sport-touring in mind, 5th and 6th gears are higher on the 1100SX. Kawasaki engineers also gave the 1100 a higher primary reduction ratio and lower final gearing. While the overall gearing is longer, the sense of acceleration should not be diminished.

  1. The quickshifter on the 2025 Kawasaki Ninja 1100SX is refined. According to our contacts at Kawasaki, the quickshifter works more smoothly at lower engine speeds.

2025 Kawasaki Ninja 1100SX SE First Look: Specs

  1. The USB power outlet has been upgraded to USB-C. Time marches on in the world of electronics, and USB-A is being phased out.

  1. There is also an SE version of the 2025 Kawasaki Ninja 1100SX ABS. Hand over another $1700 to the dealer, and you get an Öhlins S46 shock and a Brembo braking system in the front.

  1. The Öhlins S46 shock features tool-free remote spring-preload adjustment. Owners who turn the Ninja 1100SX into a sport-tourer will appreciate this convenience as a rider and luggage—both optional—are added to the platform. Internally, the Öhlins S46 shock keeps the oil and gas chambers separate for improved action. Damping is also fully adjustable.

  1. Brembo takes care of the braking up front. The master cylinder, M.4.32 calipers, and 300mm discs are all from the high-performance braking coming.
  1. The rest of the Ninja sport-tourer-in-waiting remains unchanged. We liked the 1000, so we have no complaints about that. The IMU-enhanced electronic suite returns with cruise control, traction control, and pitch management. A 4.3-inch TFT dash that integrates Rideology The App Motorcycle (yes, that’s the name) allows wireless interaction with your smartphone.

  1. Kawasaki has plenty of accessories to turn the 2025 Ninja 1100SX into a sport tourer. You can add panniers, a top case, larger windshields, a tank bag, heated grips (standard on the SE), and protective bits and pieces.

  1. You will have access to the 2025 Kawasaki Ninja 1100SX (and SE) in the winter. The standard 1100SX has a list price of $13,699. As usual, Kawasaki has posh names for the colors. The standard model is Metallic Carbon Gray / Metallic Diablo Black, and the SE sports Emerald Blazed Green / Metallic Diablo Black.
