Sidi Adventure 2 Gore Boots Review [Dirt, Street, and Touring]

The Sidi Adventure 2 Gore is an excellent boot for medium-level off-road forays on your touring adventure route, while delivering comfort when putting on the street miles. The boots provide the protection you need when navigating through dirt, gravel, or water, and are comfortable enough to log miles on the pegs and allow flexibility when walking. It’s always a balance when it comes to protecting your feet, and the Sidi Adventure 2 Gore boots have firmly established themselves in the adventure-touring category.

Sidi Adventure 2 Gore Boots Review: Touring Motorcycle Boots

Sliding into the Adventure 2 boots is easy. There are just two buckles and a wide Velcro-closing flap to undo, revealing a full-length gaiter. The lining is smooth, and my socked foot immediately feels secure as it slides into position atop the removable insole. The toe box is wide enough not to pinch my bunion-enhanced big toes, so my feet are immediately content.

Two buckled straps secure the boot—one over the top of your foot just below the ankle, and the other at the base of your shin. The sliding sawtooth strap allows for precise adjustment of the fit. Once you’ve adjusted the fit, the smoothly operating cam buckles can be clicked into place with a decisive snap. The top of the Sidi Adventure 2 boot is secured by a broad Velcro flap.

Once the two sides are mated, the boot is quite formidable. It takes a healthy pull to disengage the earnest Velcro, so I don’t worry about the boot being pulled open by grabby shrub off-road. A three-inch elastic vertical panel running from the top of the boot partially down the calf keeps the fit snug but comfortable, and there’s plenty of room for me to tuck my Klim Outrider pants inside the boots. The fit is true to size—42, in my case.

The Sidi Adventure 2 chassis combines microfiber and durable TPU, with reinforcements at key vulnerable points—ankles, toes, heels, and shin. Yes, that’s just about everything inside your boot, save your calf. An accordion panel above the heel enhances walking flexibility and foot control operation. Above that is formidable wrap-around ankle support.

Sidi Adventure 2 Gore Boots Review: Street Motorcycle Boots

The Adventure 2s are CE-certified, meeting EN 13634:2017 safety standards. The boots also earn a Level 2 rating for rigidity, impact protection, abrasion, and cut resistance. For off-road riding, this is critical; even light adventuring increases the risk of unexpected impacts. I gain a lot of confidence riding off-road if I can dab when necessary, knowing my feet are securely protected. This all happens without the use of animal products—yes, the Sidi Adventure 2 boots are vegan.

The Adventure 2 boot provides a solid foundation on the bike, whether sitting or standing. The half-inch heel slots comfortably on the footpeg, and its lugged rubber sole stays in place even when wet.

The sole is an appropriate balance between support and flexibility. It is firm enough for standing on the pegs when scrambling off-road, yet sufficiently pliable to walk naturally without a stormtrooper gait. Despite the more robust construction of an adventure boot, there’s still good feel for operating foot controls, and the boot fits under shift levers without issue.

Whether you’re splashing through streams or riding in the rain, you don’t need to worry about wet feet. The breathable yet waterproof properties of the Gore-Tex liner are there to prevent any water seeping through Sidi’s proprietary microfiber outer layer from penetrating to your skin.

Similarly, the full-length Gore-Tex gaiter further ensures no falling rain or deep-water crossing allows water inside the boot. In my local and Uruguayan testing of the Sidi Adventure 2 boots, I did not encounter any significant water, but a five-minute bathtub submersion confirmed the Gore-Tex reputation.

For inclement or after-dark riding, a very effective reflective insert sits just above the ankle on the back of the boot for added visibility. All parts on the Adventure 2 are replaceable, so the initial investment will extend over many miles of riding.

Sidi Adventure 2 Gore Boots Review: Adventure Motorcycle Boots

Sidi’s Adventure 2 Gore is a well-vetted adventure touring boot and follows on the heels, no pun intended, of Sidi’s original Adventure Gore-Tex boot, which had a decade-long run. If your off-road forays are dirt or gravel road detours or ADV-style trail riding, and you still want to walk around comfortably at stops, there’s no reason to be weighed down by the most rugged adventure or off-road boot. The Sidi Adventure 2 Gore will keep you dry, comfortable, and protected while delivering years of duty.
