It was Malcolm in the middle of the podium at the Raymond James Stadium, as the 32-year-old veteran took his first premier-class win in Monster Energy AMA Supercross at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa. Malcolm Stewart won by coming back from P8 after the first lap to take the lead on lap 19 (of 23) as Chase Sexton faltered after leading from the first lap. Stewart’s seven-second advantage at the end was primarily due to his dominance in the slick whoops.

Crashes and injuries played a large part in the results. Tomac injured his left leg in Qualifying and struggled to a P17 finish in the Main Event. Hunter Lawrence crashed out of his Heat race and was unable to ride the LCQ. Ken Roczen came together with two lappers on lap 12 of the Main. The crash derailed Roczen’s chain, and he was credited with a P21 finish.
After Sexton was passed for the lead on lap 19, he fell prey to Cooper Webb on the next lap, Jason Anderson the following lap, and Justin Cooper on the final lap.
Sexton’s P5 finish was enough for Sexton to retain the 2025 Supercross series lead by five points over Webb. Anderson jumped to P3 in the standings, 12 points behind Webb and a single point ahead of Roczen. Tomac dropped to P5 in the standings, three points behind Roczen and 21 points off the lead.
With the topsy-turvy results, 17 of 22 riders equaled or exceeded their best finishes of the year—Stewart, Webb, Anderson, Cooper, Justin Barcia, Joey Savatgy, Aaron Plessinger, Shane McElrath, Mitchell Oldenburg, Colt Nichols, Anthony Rodriguez, Kyle Chisholm, Mitchell Harrison, Justin Starling, Kevin Moranz, Jeremy Hand, and Tristan Lane.
