The Detroit round of the 2025 Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship Series marks the one-third point in the season. With it comes a growing number of injured riders. Unfortunately, we have lost Jorge Prado, Jett Lawrence, Eli Tomac, and Hunter Lawrence to injury. However, all is not lost, as there are still quality riders vying for the top five, and that’s what RMFantasySX is all about. It’s time for the 2025 Detroit Supercross Fantasy picks and tips.

- Chase Sexton remains the pick to win, as he has more wins than any other rider and leads in the standings. Sexton has four top-five finishes in five rounds, which is a strong record. After crashing out of the lead in Tampa, he had to nurse his injured bike to a P5 finish, so his speed is still there. Sexton will have challenges in Detroit, especially if he doesn’t nail his start. However, Sexton is still the best choice for the winner.

- Cooper Webb and Ken Roczen will fight it out for P2. The two riders combine for four P2 finishes, six podiums, and zero wins. Roczen’s two P2 finishes came in the first three rounds, while Webb goes into Ford Field with the momentum of two consecutive P2 finishes. That makes Webb the go-to guy for P2 and Roczen the last man on the Detroit podium.

- With all the injuries, the rest of the top five is a tough call. Of the remaining uninjured riders, only Jason Anderson, Justin Cooper, and Malcolm Stewart have nailed down a top-five finish. When we look at the trio, inconsistency reigns, making it a toss-up call.

- Jason Anderson is feast or famine. Anderson has a 3-13-3-7-3 season going. The pattern tells you he won’t be in the top five at Detroit. Still, how do you not put a guy with three podiums in five races in the top five? He’s the best of that group, though is up/down rhythm is a concern. I’ve got Anderson for P4 because I don’t know where else to put him.

- After a middling start, Malcolm Stewart twisted the throttle hard in Tampa. While Stewart started the season 10-7-9-10, he took the win—the first of his career—last week. Although I’m not ready to put him in the elite after one great ride, with the depleted field, he’s my P5 choice at Ford Field.

- Justin Cooper took his first top-five of the year last week in Tampa. Cooper’s 7-11-6-13-4 run is just confusing. Which Cooper will show up in Detroit. If it weren’t for Stewart’s Tampa victory, Cooper would be my choice. The reality is, Stewart ripped in Tampa, and Cooper did quite well. So, I have Cooper looking in from the outside at the Detroit top-five.

- It’s your lucky day—I have a P13 Wild Card for you! Well, okay, I have a few of them. There have been five P13 finishers this year—Shane McElrath, Jason Anderson, Mitchell Oldenburg, Justin Cooper, and Benny Bloss. Okay, Anderson and Cooper are out of this discussion, leaving three riders. McElrath and Bloss have been within one spot of P13 twice, and Oldenburg just once— out goes Oldenburg. However, we have to add Colt Nichols, who has twice been within the position of P13. There’s no strong argument for any one rider over the others, so flip a few coins. I think the 16-12-19-13 Bloss scorecard makes him the slightest of favorites for P13, and he’s my choice.
