Two-time Monster Energy AMA Supercross Champion Cooper Webb picked up his first win of the 2025 Supercross Championship Series with a steady ride at Ford Field in Detroit. Webb hounded leader Ken Roczen from the second lap of the 25-lap Main Event, finally passing Roczen on lap 23. Webb and Roczen tussled for a lap before Webb got some breathing room. When the checkered flag flew, Webb’s gap was just over three-quarters of a second.

Series leader Chase Sexton got onto the podium the hard way. After jumping the start and getting caught in the gate, Sexton collided with another rider early in the first lap. Sexton remounted and methodically picked off riders. Sexton moved into the top 10 with a pass of Shane McElrath on lap 6 and cracked the top five on lap 16 when he went by Justin Cooper. Last week’s winner Malcolm Stewart was passed by Sexton a lap later, and Sexton put himself on the podium on lap 20 when he went by Jason Anderson. A late fall dropped Anderson to P6, with Stewart holding onto P4 less than a half-second ahead of Cooper.
Aaron Plessinger led the opening lap before dropping back to P4. Ferrandis held P4 until lap 10, when he started a one-position-per-lap fade back to P8. Plessinger was dropped to P9 late in the race when he was passed by Dylan Ferrandis, who returned to action after missing last week’s race in Tampa due to injury.

Webb’s win puts him into a tie with Sexton atop the standings, with Sexton holding sway thanks to having two wins to Webb’s single victory. Roczen’s P2 moved him up to P3 in the standings, 16 points behind Sexton and Webb, and five points clear of Anderson. Stewart sits in P5 in the 2025 Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship Standings, five points behind Anderson and 26 points shy of the leaders.
The Supercross series heads south to Arlington for the next race on February 22 at AT&T Stadium. Check our 2025 Supercross Television Schedule for details on how to watch the race and when it’s on.
