It was a wild Triple Crown at the 2025 Arlington Supercross, with the winner in doubt until the checkered flag fell. Improbably, Cooper Webb, who finished in P6 in Race 1, was handed the Race 3 and overall win when Chase Sexton made a monumental mental error on the final lap at AT&T Stadium on Military Appreciation Night.

Going into the final Race of the night’s Triple Crown, Sexton and Justin Cooper were tied on top with five points, Ken Roczen at six points, and Webb needing help with seven points. Roczen took the early lead in the 16-lap Race 3, holding it until Sexton went to the front on lap 9. Two laps later, Webb, who was in P7 after the first lap, took P2 from Roczen. On lap 13, Sexton stalled his engine, allowing Webb to move into the lead.

With Webb in the lead, followed by Sexton and Roczen, Sexton was in position to take the overall by one point. Roczen was being hounded by a recovering Jason Anderson, who had run in P2 early in Race 3. Anderson was not in the hunt for the overall, as he had gone 12-17 in the first two Races.

Inexplicably, just before the finish line on the final lap, Sexton attempted to pass Webb—a pass that would make no difference in the final results. Sexton hit Webb’s rear wheel, putting Sexton down. Webb went on to win Race 3 and the Arlington overall, and Sexton remounted to finish Race 3 in P5 and P3 overall. Roczen was passed by Anderson for P2, but Roczen retained P2 overall due to a better finishing position than Sexton in Race 3.

Webb and Sexton arrived at Arlington tied on points after six rounds of the 2025 Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship Series. Instead of Sexton leaving with a three-point lead, Webb takes a five-point lead over Sexton to Daytona International Speedway next Saturday night. Roczen is in P3 in the standings, 19 points behind leader Webb.
