With a 3-1 performance, Jett Lawrence won the 450SX overall at the 2025 Hangtown Motocross Classic under a blistering sun and triple-digit temperatures. With his second overall win in two rounds, Lawrence opens up a 16-point lead over Aaron Plessinger in the 2025 Pro Motocross Championship Series after two rounds. Eli Tomac sits in P3 in the standings, one point behind Plessinger and three points ahead of Justin Cooper.

Plessinger went to the front immediately, followed by Cooper, Tomac, and Lawrence. Cooper dropped two places in two laps, with Tomac on the chase after Plessinger and Lawrence settling into P3. Tomac chased down Plessinger and passed him on the penultimate lap. A drained Plessinger had no response, finishing over 11 seconds behind Tomac. Jett Lawrence, Cooper, and Hunter Lawrence rode in formation from Lap 3 to the finish.
The extreme heat prompted AMA officials to shorten the second moto to 25 minutes plus two laps. Moto 2 was the Jett show, as he led from start to finish, with Cooper a distant P2 the entire race.
Lap 6 was the decisive lap for the rest of the top seven Moto 2 finishers. Plessinger passed Hunter for P3, and Jorge Prado passed Jason Anderson and Cooper Webb for P5.

Tomac fluffed his start and got jostled to the back of the pack, finishing the first lap in P18. Tomac put on an epic charge until a fall on Lap 5 while in P8 took the wind out of his sails. Tomac dropped back to P12 before working his way back to P9 by the finish.
The series resumes on Saturday, June 7, at Thunder Valley Motocross Park in Lakewood, Colorado. Check out our 2025 Pro Motocross Television Schedule for viewing information.
