The 2025 Pro Motocross AMA National Championship moves to Colorado for the Thunder Valley National, the third round of this year’s series. It’s going to be about 20 degrees cooler at Thunder Valley Motocross Park than it was at the Hangtown Classic last week. With that scorcher out of the way, the fans and riders will be looking forward to temperatures in the 80s, a few clouds, and no chance of rain. So, let’s get to the 2025 Thunder Valley National Motocross fantasy picks and tips for RMFantasyMX players.

- Jett Lawrence is the indisputable favorite at Thunder Valley. Lawrence has three wins in four motos and has won both overalls—the stat that matters in RMFantasyMX. You can confidently mark Jett Lawrence down as the winner.

- The battle for the rest of the top five is a tough one. You have two riders who have been in the top five in all four motos so far—Aaron Plessinger (5-3-2-3) and Hunter Lawrence (3-4-5-4). You also have mercurial riders—Justin Cooper (2-8-4-2) and Eli Tomac (4-2-1-9). All four of these riders have one overall podium and have been in the top five at both rounds overall. Yeah, it’s tough.

- Eli Tomac is the only rider besides Jett to win a moto. While Tomac turned a bad start into a P9 disaster in the second moto at Hangtown, he’s the only rider who can hang with Jett. With that in mind, the nod for P2 goes to Tomac.

- Looking at the top three moto finishes for Justin Cooper and Aaron Plessinger, they’re even. Cooper has two P2s and a P4, compared to Plessinger’s two P3s and a P2. Plessinger’s worst performance, a P5, gives him an edge over Cooper, who finished the second moto of the year in P8. So, it’s Plessinger for P3 and Cooper for P4.

- Hunter Lawrence has been consistent, but has just one moto podium. It’s hard to put Hunter in P5 with a 3-4-5-4 record, but the arguments for the four riders ahead of him make that the case. Hunter Lawrence in P5.

- There’s an obvious Wild Card P7 favorite for the Thunder Valley National—reigning Supercross Champion Cooper Webb. After a disastrous first moto at the Fox Raceway National opener, Webb has three P7s moto finishes in a row. If you want to take a chance, consider Jason Anderson (9-5-9-6), RJ Hampshire (6-12-6-9), and Jorge Prado (7-6-12-5). If I weren’t picking Webb, I’d go with Anderson’s consistency as a backup pick for the P7 Wild Card.

- With the 2025 Pro Motocross Championship moving to the Mountain Time Zone, the racing starts earlier than the last two weeks. Tune into Peacock at 9 a.m. PDT for Race Day Live with the first Thunder Valley National gate drop at noon.
