The size of the Suzuki GSX-8 family doubles for 2026. In addition to the standard GSX-8S, we have enjoyed the track-friendly GSX-8R. For 2026, we can add two retro bikes to the mix—the GSX-8T and GSX-8TT. Although all four bikes are siblings rather than cousins, they’re still distinct from one another. So, let’s get started with the naked retro 2026 Suzuki GSX-8T.
- The T stands for Titan. Suzuki tells us that the 2026 GSX-8T is an homage to the T500 Titan, an air-cooled two-stroke twin that ran from 1968 to 1975. Suzuki should have just called this bike the Titan, although it’s possible that Nissan might have something to say about that.
- The new GSX-8T shares the same chassis and engine as the other 8s. So, we’re looking at the same 773cc parallel-twin powerplant, Showa fork, linkage-assisted shock, and Dunlop Sportmax Roadsport tires on 17-inch wheels. It’s a proven platform that works for the GSX-8S and GSX-8R.
- That’s a new headlight shape. It’s round with a flat bottom. Suzuki went with this motif to recall the 1960s and 1970s. It’s an LED, of course.
- The 2026 Suzuki GSX-8T gets a new dash. It’s a five-inch TFT, and includes a powered USB-C port.
- Bar-end mirrors come to Suzuki for the first time. Believe it or not, there’s never been a Suzuki with bar-end mirrors until now!
- The T gets a larger fuel tank than the S (standard). The T holds an additional 2.4 quarts, bringing the fuel tank capacity to 4.3 gallons. With an estimated fuel consumption rate of 56 mpg, you’re looking at a possible 240 miles before fuel stops.
- The GSX-8T gets a tuck-and-roll seat. Suzuki didn’t just design the seat to evoke the 1960s. It’s also designed to be more comfortable and narrower in the front, allowing the rider’s boots to touch the ground. The GSX-8T seat height is slightly taller than the 8S, but only by a hair.
- The side covers are black. Suzuki calls the look “refined [and] understated.”
- A brushed stainless steel muffler cover tarts up the exhaust. It also does double duty as a heat shield.
- Power for the GSX-8T comes from a new battery. This is the first Suzuki to get a lithium-ion battery. It’s a Hy battEliiy P-series battery. Eliiy Power has supplied batteries to the Yoshimura SERT Motul Racing Team that competes in the FIM Endurance World Championship.

- Suzuki has not yet set a price for the 2026 GSX-8T. However, we can tell you that when it arrives sometime before autumn, it will be available in Candy Burnt Gold or Metallic Mat Black.
