Justin Barcia flies past the American flag on the way to P7 overall.

Jett Lawrence turned in another 1-1 finish at the 2025 RedBud National, the midway point in the 2025 Pro Motocross National Championship Series. Hunter Lawrence solidified his hold on P2 in the standings with a 2-3 day for P2 overall, as Aaron Plessinger and Eli Tomac both suffered zero-point motos. Justin Cooper returned to the podium with a 4-2 ride for P3 overall. R.J. Hampshire’s 3-6 day earned him P4 overall—his first top five in his rookie 450MX season. Chase Sexton returned from a round 1 injury and rounded out the top five, going 5-4 at RedBud MX in Buchanan, Michigan.

Jett Lawrence continued his 1-1 ways at the RedBud National.

In Moto 1, Hunter led the four opening laps in the 17-lap race before being passed for the lead by his brother Jett. Jett never looked back, winning the moto by over 16 seconds. Hunter had a 12-second cushion back to Hampshire, who scored his first-ever 450MX moto podium. Cooper was in P4, who had a five-second gap ahead and behind him, with Sexton rounding out the top five. Tomac’s bike expired on lap 9 with him in a podium position.

Jett did it the hard way in Moto 2. After a mediocre start, Jett went down on the first lap of 16 and found himself in P18. Jett went on a rampage, passing four riders on lap 2 and another four riders on the following lap. Lap 3 saw Jett making two more passes and hitting the top five. By lap 6, Jett was in a podium slot. Jett passed Jorge Prado, who led the six opening laps, for P2 on lap 8. On lap 11, Jett passed Cooper for the lead and was never shown a wheel.

Going 2-3, Hunter Lawrence continued his string of runner-up finishes.

Cooper held on to P2, with Hunter moving up to P3 on lap 12 after finishing the first lap in P8. Sexton ran as high as P3 in the second half of Moto 2, but a fall dropped him to P4 at the checkered flag. Early leader Prado faded to P5 at the finish, over five seconds clear of Hampshire. A 34th gate pick left Tomac in P26 after one lap, with Tomac eventually finishing in P7. Illness forced Plessinger to sit out the second moto.

Jett now leads the 2025 Pro Motocross National Championship by 51 points over Hunter with five rounds remaining. Tomac dropped from P2 in the season standings to P4, as Cooper moved into P3. Plessinger dropped to P5 in the standings.

KTM's Chase Sexton
Defending Pro Motocross National Champion Chase Sexton returned to action for the first time since a round one injury.
