The 2026 Moto Morini X-Cape 1200 adventure motorcycle has finally arrived in Europe, following its debut as a concept bike in 2023. We don’t know when it will come to the United States, but that won’t stop us from checking out this new flagship ADV bike designed in Italy and manufactured in China.
- The 2026 Moto Morini X-Cape 1200 is powered by an 1187cc V-twin. Dubbed the V2 Corsa Corta Evo engine, the 87-degree V-twin puts out 127 horsepower at 8750 rpm, with torque peaking at 78 lb-ft @ 7000 rpm. Chain-driven, it has a claimed top speed of 137 mph. The six-speed transmission is quickshifter-equipped and matched to a slipper clutch. Traction control is standard, and defeatable.
- KYB provides the suspension for the X-Cape 1200. Wheel travel at both ends is 7.1 inches. The inverted 48mm fork is fully adjustable, while the linkage-assisted shock is only adjustable for spring preload via a remote knob.
- The frame is a steel/aluminum hybrid, with the swingarm made of aluminum. The wheelbase is a compact 61 inches; we don’t have rake or trail numbers. The seat height is a moderate 33.1 inches. We don’t have a curb weight for the 2026 Moto Morini X-Cape 1200—only a meaningless 571-pound “dry” weight. It will be well into the 600-pound range when it’s ready to ride.
- Pirelli Scorpion Trail III tires are mounted on wire-spoke wheels. The wheelset is a conservative 19-/17-inch combo, and the Pirellis have a 90/10 street bias.
- Braking is by Brembo, with Bosch handling the ABS. The front end has 320mm discs, with the monoblock calipers radially mounted. A 280mm disc is employed. The X-Cape 1200’s ABS has an off-road mode and is cornering-aware.
- The 2026 Moto Morini X-Cape 1200 has rear-facing radar to monitor blind spots. In the front, a camera records your ride. The headlights light up the inside of corners after dark.
- Touring riders are coddled. Heated seats and grips are standard, with your hands also protected by guards. Cruise control and an adjustable windshield are part of the package, along with a seven-inch TFT display featuring a navigation system. Powered USB-A and USB-C ports keep your electronic devices charged and ready for use. Tire pressure monitoring is also part of the 1200’s package. Should you need to do maintenance, the big ADV bike has a centerstand. Fuel stops will be few and far between thanks to a 6.5-gallon tank.
- The list price in Italy for the 2026 Moto Morini X-Cape 1200 is €13,990. To sweeten the offer for new buyers, if an Italian buys the bike before the end of 2025, Moto Morini will throw in panniers and a top case. Three color choices are available—Arctic White, Energy Red, and Viper Black. We’re not sure if we’ll see the new X-Cape 1200 in MY26 in the United States, as it’s not on Moto Morini’s US website yet. However, we’ll keep checking!
