Last year, the Triumph TF 450-RC Special Edition ended the 50-year drought of motocross bikes from the British marque. The 2026 Triumph TF 450-X settles in as the flagship MXer, with a few changes. You can read our review of the RC to get all the details on the bike, so let’s focus on the changes as it transitions from RC to X with a $300 price cut.
- Pirelli Scorpion MX32 tires replace Dunlop Geomax MX34 rubber. This change will be cheered by many who ride in softer, loamier conditions. Regardless, tires are consumables.
- The clutch on the 2026 Triumph TF 450-X has been upgraded. There’s a new Exedy clutch hub has lubrication ports designed to transfer torque more efficiently and improve durability. The clutch gets a new Belleville spring; a Triumph insider tells us the swap was made for “enhanced durability and refined clutch action.”
- New engine mounts will change the handling a bit. We won’t know how much and in which direction until we ride it.
- The selector star in the transmission is new. Our sources at Triumph claim it “offers improved gear selection and robust engagement.”
- The new 2026 graphics are molded in. You’ll note the Triumph Performance Yellow contrasting with the Jet Black/Pure White color scheme.
- Triumph continues to offer an accessories upgrade path:
- MX Tune Pro and Accessory Engine Management Unit w/ 10 engine maps
- Akrapovič full-titanium exhaust system
- Athena LC-GPA launch control module w/ adjustments for traction and engine speed
- Gripper seat cover and seat
- The 2026 Triumph TF 450-X has a list price of $10,695. Check with your local Triumph off-road dealer for availability details.
