The all-new 2026 Norton Manx R superbike is the first of four all-new Norton motorcycles that will roll out over the next 18 months under TVS Motor ownership. The Manx R is designed and manufactured at Norton’s purpose-built factory in Solihull, England, just a few miles southeast of Birmingham. While we don’t have a spec sheet yet, we do have quite a few details, so let’s dive in.
- The 2026 Norton Manx R is powered by an all-new 1200cc 72-degree V4 engine. The big V4 puts out 206 horsepower at 11,500 rpm and 96 lb-ft of torque at 9000 rpm. The engine uses ride-by-wire throttle bodies that operate independently for the front and rear cylinder banks, providing precise response across the rev range, with a focus on performance in the upper half.
- There are three preset riding modes—Sport, Road, and Rain—and two fully customizable Track profiles. The modes alter power delivery, traction control, wheelie control, rear-wheel slide control, engine braking, ABS, and the semi-active suspension settings. Once set, rider preferences are stored and recalled each time the motorcycle is started.
- The quickshifter-equipped six-speed gearbox is matched to a slipper clutch. A tall final drive ratio is designed to keep the engine in its strong midrange power on the street, while still offering close-ratio spacing for track use. An “Optimal Gear Shift Suggestion” indicator on the dashboard appears when the electronics determine a different gear would better exploit available torque.
- Dry weight is 204 kg (449 pounds), giving the Manx R a power-to-weight ratio of almost exactly one horsepower per kilogram before fluids are added. The chassis consists of a single-piece cast-aluminum frame that Norton says is tuned for controlled flex and direct road feedback rather than an ultra-stiff track-focused superbike chassis. A machined aluminum single-sided swingarm and an under-slung exhaust system help lower the center of gravity and concentrate mass.
- The 2026 Norton Manx R runs a Marzocchi semi-active fork and shock. Co-developed in Bologna, the Norton has multiple sensors to monitor road surface, lean angle, acceleration, braking, and rider inputs up to 1,000 times per second. Compression and rebound damping are adjusted independently at both ends in real time.
- The wheels are 17-inch carbon-fiber BST units. These are among the lightest available on any production motorcycle. Norton mounts Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa V4 SP tires, using a 120/70 front and 200/55 rear.
- Brembo Hypure monobloc calipers slow down the front wheel. The asymmetrical, lightweight aluminum four-piston front calipers and two-piston rear caliper put the pressure on 330mm floating front discs and a 245mm rear disc. A patented spring-pad-pin system reduces residual torque, while Bosch lean-sensitive ABS modulates pressure based on cornering angle and speed. The taillight flashes rapidly during hard deceleration to help prevent the bike from being rear-ended.
- The rider aids on the 2026 Norton Manx R are managed by a Bosch 10.3 ECU and a six-axis IMU. Switchable systems include cornering-aware traction control, wheelie control, rear-wheel slide control, launch control, hill-hold assist, and cornering cruise control (a superbike-class first) that automatically maintains selected speed through corners without rider throttle input.
- An 8-inch TFT touchscreen display greets the rider. Innovative features include full smartphone mirroring and the disabling of non-riding info when riding above walking speed. Drag racers will like that the dash will collect your 0-100 kph times, if you like. You can also control compatible GoPro units via the dash.
- All body panels are carbon fiber with hidden fasteners and no graphic decals or aerodynamic winglets. Norton designers describe the look as “reductive,” emphasizing clean surfaces, exposed mechanical components, and a top-notch finish, with a focus on a compact, forward-leaning stance.
- The Norton superbike has plenty more high-tech features. Standard equipment includes keyless ignition, keyless fuel-filler release, LED DRLs, service-interval reminder, and a dedicated smartphone app that provides live vehicle tracking, remote immobilization, and theft alerts.
- Norton has not yet released pricing or delivery dates for the 2026 Norton Manx R. Production is scheduled to begin at the Solihull in the first half of 2026, with global deliveries to follow.
