The already high-tech Ducati Multistrada V4 Rally gets even higher-tech this year. Some of the upgrades are a combination of electronics and mechanical changes, making this the most approachable version of the luxury adventure bike. With that in mind, let’s dive into the 2026 Ducati Multistrada V4 Rally.
- An Automatic Lowering Device is fitted to the 2026 Ducati Multistrada V4 Rally. We have seen this on adventure bikes from BMW and Harley-Davidson, and now Ducati has its own version. In this implementation, the Rally automatically lowers when the motorcycle is going slower than 6 mph. The chassis returns to the standard position at 12 mph off-road or 31 mph on pavement. If the rider does not want this feature, it can be turned off.
- The Rally’s radar system now alerts the rider when the bike is too close to the vehicle ahead. The Forward Collision Warning function is standard and alerts the rider to potential danger via a pop-up window on the dashboard.
- The Rally’s 6.5-inch TFT has a new interface. The software is designed to make it easier to control the suspension, as well as the now-standard heater for the grips and passenger seat. It continues to interface wirelessly with the Ducati Connect app.
- The Adaptive Skyhook Ducati Semiactive Suspension Evo system receives a performance and capability boost. Spring preload management has been improved to maintain the Rally’s attitude, regardless of how many riders are aboard or what’s loaded in the bags. Also, a Ducati insider tells us that “the Adaptive DSS EVO system can understand the characteristics of the route being tackled and the rider’s riding style at any given moment and adjust the suspension’s hydraulic calibration to ensure the best control and comfort based on the situation.”
- The Ducati Vehicle Observer is a sophisticated way for the electronics system to determine the motorcycle’s position. It uses data from 70 sensors to precisely determine what the Rally is doing and feeds it to an algorithm that improves the performance of the cornering ABS and wheelie control. These are features that Ducati Corse developed in MotoGP competition.
- Ducati has refined its combined braking system. Borrowing from the standard Multistrada V4 and calibrated to Rally standards, the front brakes are applied when the rider pushes the rear brake pedal. Previous, the linking was limited to adding the rear brake when pulling on the front brake lever. The result is less pitch change during braking, particularly with a passenger aboard.
- The quickshifter system gets simplified and improved. There’s no longer a microswitch on the shift rod. Instead, the gear changes are about the reading from the angular position sensor on the gear shift drum. The intended result is shorter shift travel and improved feel.
- When the ride is over, the Rally leaves the light on. Ducati calls this the “Coming Home” function; it keeps the low-beam lights on for a few seconds after you turn the ignition off. That gives you time to open the garage door or attend to some other after-dark chore that could use illumination. Also, the centerstand has been reworked to make it easier to lift the bike onto it.
- The aluminum panniers are easier to use. The lock allows you to open and close them without a key, whether they’re on or off the motorcycle.
- The 2026 Ducati Multistrada V4 Rally has a list price of $31,995. There are two colorways: Ducati Red/Brushed Aluminum with black wheels, and Jade Green/Brushed Aluminum with gold wheels. Watch for the Rally to roll onto showroom floors in March.
