Dear all, this car video records the development of an all new steering box for my three wheeled Solar hybrid vehicle. The steering box is derived from the rack and pinion using a sprocket on the steering shaft and chain fixed as the rack. It works well and is most suitable where loads are low. The earlier link type steering was too sensitive and hence this solution.
The vehicle is a low cost city runabout with seating for 1 plus a child. and aimed at Indian families using the unsafe two wheeler as their main mode of commute.
Pure Electric cars have a larger carbon footprint than gas cars hence a lightweight blend using free solar energy will augment overall efficiency.
