The Triumph Tiger 900 lineup benefits from significant upgrades this year. There are three 2024 Tiger 900s—the street-oriented GT base model, the upgraded GT Pro, and the off-road-focused Rally Pro flagship. While the frame is unchanged, the motor gets plenty of attention, as does the Rally Pro’s suspension. With that in mind, let’s look into what’s new in the 2024 Triumph Tiger 900 lineup.
- The inline-3 gets a substantial top-end makeover. New, higher-compression pistons move under a new cylinder head with larger intake ports and oval exhaust ports. There are also new higher-lift cams, plus 15mm-longer longer intake ducts.
- The exhaust system is also updated. The new headers are freer-flowing and use a single catalyst. The muffler is also new, and Triumph promises “improved sound.”
- There’s a boost in horsepower and torque. The 2024 Triumph Tiger 900 motor produces more horsepower from 6500 rpm to the 10k redline. The peak horsepower output is 107 horsepower–a staggering 13-horsepower increase—which comes 750 rpm later than before at 9500 rpm. Torque is up from 5000 rpm to the redline and hits its maximum of 66 ft-lbs 400 rpm sooner than last year.
- Along with producing more power, the triple’s fuel consumption is reduced by nine percent. The DOHC motor gets a hair over 60 mpg, according to tests.
- The braking is now linked on the 2024 Triumph Tiger 900 lineup. When you pull on the front brake lever, the rear brake is also actuated. Brembo calipers continue to be employed on all three discs.
- New lighting features increase safety. When you brake hard, the hazard lights flash to alert vehicles behind you. Also, the turn signals are always on for added visibility, though at a low level. All lighting is LED.
- The seat height is adjustable on each of the three models. The GTs can have the seat sit 3 or 33.1 inches above the pavement. The long-travel Rally Pro stock seat will be 33.9 or 34.6 inches high.
- The handlebar on each Tiger 900 has a new damping system. Also, the Rally Pro’s handlebar is 0.6 inches closer to the rider than last year.
- There’s a new seven-inch TFT dash. As expected, it connects with your smartphone via Bluetooth and the My Triumph app.
- To keep devices powered, there are three power outlets on the 2024 Triumph Tiger 900s. Next to the dash, you’ll find USB-C and a 12-volt receptacle. Under the seat is a five-volt USB socket.
- More aggressive bodywork gives the new Tiger 900s a sharper attitude.
- The three versions of the 900 have various differences. The suspension is upgraded as you move through the lineup. The Pro models have a quickshifter, tire pressure monitoring, a centerstand, heated grips, heated seats, LED auxiliary lights, custom riding modes, and Off-Road Pro riding mode (Rally Pro) only. All of those features are optional on the standard GT. The GTs have a 19-inch front wheel, while the Rally Pro gets a 21-inch front hoop, with the GTs having cast aluminum wheels compared to the wire-spoked wheels on the Rally Pro. Instead of Marzocchi suspension, the Rally Pro has longer-travel Showa units. A skid plate and engine protection bars are standard on the Rally Pro and optional on the GTs.
- All these changes come with no price increase. The standard 2024 Triumph Tiger 900 GT continues to have an MSRP of $14,995. Add $1900 to get to the GT Pro version, and another $500 moves you up to the Rally Pro. The models also have new color options.
