That much extra weight is not only hard to pick up after an incidental tipover, but also hard to push around in the garage. I removed the OEM pannier racks, and aftermarket tail rack with a locking top case. My cavernous hard and soft panniers are on the shelf for now as I get used to the functionality of rack-free storage.
The Giant Loop MoJavi package includes the saddlebag assembly, one polyurethane stretch Pronghorn Strap, two fender hooks, and a heat shield to keep the MoJavi saddlebags a safe distance from the exhaust. The Pronghorn Strap loops just behind the latch under the Ténéré 700 pillion seat, so I didn’t need the fender hooks.
