Aprilia has rolled out significant updates to its much-lauded Tuono V4 range of motorcycles with some attention-grabbing headlines. The mighty V4 powerplant grows to 1099cc and raises the horsepower bar to 180. The 2025 Aprilia Tuono V4 lineup gets a whole new naked look, and electronics are revised.
We expect the 2025 Aprilia Tuono V4 and Tuono V4 Factory to land in North America this March. Better yet, the two machines feature competitive MSRPs within this increasingly tech-laden segment, as the Tuono V4 comes in at $16,299, and the Tuono V4 Factory commands a $19,699 price tag. Now, let’s get on with the Fast Facts.
- Two 2025 Aprilia Tuono V4s are on tap, and a handful of differences align with their respective missions. The Italian brand is retaining the Tuono V4 lineup strategy we saw for the 2021 update, creating two clear buyer pathways. A standard Tuono V4 returns with analog Sachs suspension and more street-biased ergonomics, slotting itself in as one of the sportiest upright motorcycles currently available. Naturally, that still leaves room for the supernaked Tuono V4 Factory to take care of all the knee-dragging you can handle, which boasts semi-active Öhlins suspension, racetrack-oriented features, and a sportier riding position.
- There’s a bump in displacement and performance, as the 65-degree V4 grows from 1077cc to 1099cc. Meeting Euro5+ emissions isn’t all bad when we consider that we’ll gain more performance. Claimed figures show a five-point boost in peak horsepower, raising it to 180 horses at 11,800 rpm, and maximum torque achieves the same 89 ft-lbs at 9500 rpm as before. Other changes to the engine include significantly larger 52mm throttle bodies, which, along with the nudge in displacement, help clear any emissions hurdle while delivering even more power. Other tweaks to the engine include a new exhaust system with a relocated catalytic converter claimed to reduce radiant heat felt by the rider. It also eases slip-on exhaust upgrades, which Aprilia happens to offer in its authorized accessory range.
- A new five-inch TFT display is used to adjust updated IMU-assisted rider aids. Aprilia has noted a new user interface on its instrument panel, adjusted via a new back-lit switchgear for a more premium touch. Aprilia helped pioneer electronic rider aids in the supernaked and superbike segments, which comes as no surprise that the same competitive electronic suite is featured on both Tuono V4 machines with a few more advancements. The revised eight-level traction control system now works with an all-new three-level predictive slide control algorithm. In addition, a new wheelie control system provides less interference due to its predictive programming. Still, both bikes enjoy adjustable throttle maps, engine braking, TC, ABS, wheelie control, and a bi-directional quickshifter.
- The 2025 Aprilia Tuono V4 Factory gains additional standard electronic functions. To further separate the two Tuono V4 machines, the Factory benefits from a handful of extra aids. Those features include a Race dashboard, launch control, pit limiter, slide control, cornering headlights, and cruise control. While the standard Tuono V4 would undoubtedly be able to use cornering headlights and cruise control on the road, we are told they will be available to be unlocked via an in-app purchase, requiring no visit to the dealership.
- If you want GPS-located TC/WC and suspension tuning, the Tuono V4 Factory offers that as an option. Pulled straight out of the MotoGP playbook are the Race Pack and Suspension Pack, which are exclusive to the Tuono V4 Factory and use an accessory GPS module. Riders can now achieve corner-by-corner tuning for TC and WC settings with the help of the Race Pack, while the Suspension Pack delivers corner-by-corner tuning of suspension settings. The system does rely on a mobile device paired to the bike via the Aprilia MIA app, and can only be used at a racetrack. Even more compelling is that full telemetry can be downloaded directly after a session.
- MotoGP-inspired styling comes to the 2025 Aprilia Tuono V4 platform. While the massive winglet on the Tuono V4 and V4 Factory is certainly attention-grabbing, the brand’s internal wind tunnel testing shows that it generates 5.5 pounds of downforce at 155 mph. According to brand literature, the new aerodynamic features improve grip and handling, though, admittedly, these are aspects of the bike that can only be fully realized on a racetrack. What has caught our eye is the all-new bodywork, or rather, the lack thereof bodywork. The Tuono V4 platform’s open-armed acceptance of naked motorcycle styling is part of a new design language seen across all 2025 Tuonos, and Aprilia tells us it improves heat dissipation. Also, more powerful radiator fans are used to further the cooling mission.
- Sachs suspension returns to the standard Tuono V4. As we saw in 2021, fully adjustable Sachs suspension will be deployed to help lower the MSRP for a budget-minded or less demanding customer.
- Öhlins suspension reprises its role aboard the Tuono V4 Factory. This is the same Öhlins NIX 43mm fork and TTX shock, controlled by the prior-generation Smart EC 2.0 semi-active system. While Öhlins has updated to the Smart EC 3.0 system, which debuted on the 2025 Honda CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP, we are not seeing that delivered here in a likely effort to curb a major price increase.
- The 2025 Aprilia Tuono V4 and Tuono V4 Factory arrive in March. Colorways include Shark Gray and throwback Scorpion Yellow for the standard Tuono V4, while the Tuono V4 Factory is offered exclusively in a racier livery known as Dark Kraken.
