The world can always use more lightweight adventure bikes. The 2025 Benelli BKX 300 fits that description, featuring all the attributes you expect in an ADV motorcycle, except for a large-displacement engine and excess weight. Let’s take a closer look at this entry into the class where we see motorcycles like the BMW G 310 GS, Kawasaki Versys-X, and Honda CRF300L Rally.
- Like all Benellis, the 2025 BKX 300 is designed in Italy but built in China. R&D work is conducted at the Benelli Style Center in Pesaro—Benelli’s hometown since 1911—while the Qianjiang Group handles the manufacturing. The Qianjiang Group is part of Geely Holding, which owns Volvo, Lotus, Smart, and Polestar automotive brands.
- The 2025 Benelli BKX 300 is powered by a liquid-cooled, DOHC, four-valve, single-cylinder engine that loves to rev. The short-stroke motor produces 29 horsepower at 9000 rpm and reaches its 18 ft-lb torque peak at 7000 rpm. A six-speed transmission makes the most of this output.
- The fuel-injected system features a 42mm throttle body, with ignition controlled by Bosch Motronic MES 8.0 software.
- The BKX 300 achieves a claimed 74 mpg. With a 3.2-gallon fuel tank, you could travel over 200 miles between visits to the gas station.
- The standard 19-/17-inch wheelset for adventure bikes comes equipped with CST C6017 tires, which are suitable for ADV riding.
- The 2025 Benelli BKX 300 offers off-pavement-ready suspension travel. There are over seven inches of wheel travel at both ends. The fork and shock are fully adjustable, except for the lack of shock compression damping. The shock gets help from a linkage system.
- The seat height is manageable and adjustable. There are three mounting positions, allowing for heights of 32.7, 33.7, and 34.5 inches.
- The exhaust is high-mounted, dual-sport style. Typically, headers on adventure bikes are routed to the bottom of the motor.
- There is no skid plate, limiting where you can ride once the pavement ends. The chassis offers nine inches of ground clearance.
- Turn signals are integrated into the hand guards, and the brake lights are incorporated into the turn signals. That’s a very tidy design.
- That’s a radially mounted four-piston caliper handling the front braking chores. It works on a floating 300mm disc. A 240mm disc and single-piston caliper plays backup on the rear wheel.
- Off-road riders will appreciate the 342-pound curb weight. That’s 35 pounds lighter than a BMW G 310 GS and nine pounds heavier than the Honda CRF300L Rally—two other 300-class singles.
- We don’t have a list price for the 2025 Benelli BKX 300 yet. Although we’ve only seen photos of one color, the bike will be available in Nordic White, Avio Blue, Dune Sea, and Cement Gray. There’s no word that the BKX 300 will be available in the United States, but that doesn’t stop us from crossing our fingers and leaning on Benelli’s importer, Keeway America.
