Sena Technologies has introduced the Phantom, a new full-face motorcycle smart helmet. Manufactured at a new facility, the Sena Phantom integrates communication, audio, and safety features into its design.
The Phantom helmet is designed as a single unit, embedding all components internally for a sleek look and better aerodynamics with dual internal antennas. Communication capabilities include Sena’s Mesh Intercom 3.0 for group communication and the cell-based Wave intercom system for connectivity when riders are far apart. The Phantom also uses the Bluetooth 5.3 protocol.
In addition to integrating the improved electronics, a significant innovation is the LED lighting that features a chin-bar-mounted front-facing flashlight, plus running and brake lights in the rear. Also, the integrated battery allows for 35 hours of talk time after just 2.5 hours of charging.
Built-in second-generation Harmon Kardon speakers with acoustic chambers deliver high-quality audio. The software features AI-based noise cancellation to reduce wind and environmental noise, with acoustically engineered padding for sound isolation. The new Sena Motorcycles App that you install on your iOS or Android smartphone configures the Sena Phantom helmet’s electronics to your needs and performs over-the-air software and firmware updates.

The Sena Phantom has DOT and ECE 22.06 certifications. The shell is composite fiberglass, and the faceshield is Pinlock-ready. The list price for the Phantom is $499 and the helmet arrives at Sena Authorized Resellers next month.
