Hot on the heels of the new Speed Triple 1200 RS this year comes the 2026 Triumph Speed Triple 1200 RX. It’s a limited edition model—just 1,200 will be produced—and it ups the performance ante of a motorcycle that already impressed us on the street and track. Let’s see what makes the RX tick and why it might be a dream come true for track day enthusiasts.
- The 2026 Triumph Speed Triple 1200 RX gets more committed ergonomics. The RX’s clip-ons move the grips 2.7 inches lower and 2.0 inches forward compared to the RS. Additionally, the RX’s footpegs sit a half-inch higher and an inch back from where they are positioned on the RS.
- An Öhlins SD EC steering damper is mounted on the RX. The steering damper is electronically adjusted and works in conjunction with the suspension via Öhlins SmartEC3 software. This means that as the semi-active suspension is working, it adds the damper’s action to the process of steadying the chassis. Öhlins calls this Objective Based Tuning Interface (OBTi). The damper is pressurized to eliminate freeplay.
- An Akrapovič muffler is employed on the 2026 Triumph Speed Triple 1200 RX. The muffler has a titanium body, with carbon fiber used for the inlet cover and end cap. The Akrapovič logo on the muffler is laser-etched. There are no claims for increased performance or weight reduction compared to the current RS.
- The RX gets a high-performance seat. It makes it easier for the rider to move around on the bike, and an RX logo is embossed into the seat.
- That’s a carbon fiber front fender and tank bodywork. The RX has a Triumph Performance Yellow and Granite colorway. The rear rim is accented by Triumph Performance Yellow.
- We hand over the last word to Triumph Motorcycles Chief Commercial Officer Paul Stroud: “The new Speed Triple 1200 RX offers the ultimate riding experience, both on the road and on the track. The extra technology, premium specification, and more focused riding position will put this firmly on the wish list of every track day enthusiast.”
- The list price of the 2026 Triumph Speed Triple 1200 RX is $21,495. That’s a $1500 bump up from the premium-class ’25 RS. You’ll have to order the RX, and delivers begin this month.
