After a delightful day in the sand last week at The Wick 338, the five-rider lock on the top five was finally broken. Saturday, the 2025 Pro Motocross National Championship Series moves to Buchanan, Michigan, for the annual Independence Day Weekend extravaganza. That means it’s time for our 2025 RedBud National Motocross fantasy picks and tips for RMFantasyMX players.

- Jett Lawrence continues to reign supreme. He has five overalls in five rounds, and has won eight of ten motos. Jett hasn’t finished off the podium and shows no signs of cracking. It’s difficult to do anything but pick him to win again.

- With four P2 motos in a row, Hunter Lawrence is the natural pick for P2 at the RedBud National. Those four P2 motos have also resulted in a pair of P2 overalls in a row for the older Lawrence brother. Hunter isn’t quite the lock for P2 that his brother is for the win, but it’s close.

- Just as the Lawrences have settled in at the top, it looks like P3 is the best Eli Tomac is going to do. Yes, Tomac has three overall wins at the RedBud National, but the most recent one was in 2022—a lot has changed since then.

- Although Aaron Plessinger was the rider who dropped out of the top five at the Southwick National, look for him to return to the club at RedBud. Plessinger went 4-8 after a Moto 2 fall that sapped his energy for the rest of the race. That dropped him back to P7 overall, behind Jorge Prado and R.J. Hampshire. Look for a return to form for The Cowboy as the Stars and Stripes fly in the crowd. A podium would be nice, but P4 is most likely.

- Two uncharacteristically poor starts doomed Justin Cooper at The Wick 338. Fortunately for the way the results settled out, his 6-5 day was good enough for P4. As it worked out, even though Cooper finished three positions ahead of Plessinger, Cooper only gained a point on Plessinger in the standings. Although Cooper is definitely a P4 contender, and a perfectly good choice, Plessinger is riding just a touch better, and that puts Cooper in P5 overall.

- R. J. Hampshire is worth considering for the top five, if you want to take a risk—Jorge Prado, not so much. Hampshire is on a 9-7-7-8-6 overall run as a rookie. He was just a point short of his first 450MX top-five, so momentum is going his way. Prado was the rider to crack the top-five club, as his European experience on sand tracks made the difference. However, don’t put too much stock in results from The Wick 338, as its sand track is a novelty on the AMA National circuit.

- P8 is the Wild Card, and it’s a spot that looks good for Cooper Webb. There have been five different P8 overall finishers this year, so it’s not a natural for anyone. I already listed seven riders competing for the top five. After them, this year’s Supercross champ is your best bet. Joey Savatgy (8-11-10-6-12) is an inconsistent option, as is Prado (6-9-13-17-5). If you’re looking for a reasonable long shot, Malcolm Stewart (15-10-8-DNF-10) will be lining up, as will Justin Barcia, who was P10 in his return after injury. You have plenty of choices—I’m going with Webb for the P8 Wild Card.

- Live from the Great Lakes region means the racing is in the Eastern Daylight Time Zone. West Coasters have to tune in at 7 a.m. to catch Race Day Live with racing streaming three hours later on Peacock. There’s another viewing option, so check our 2025 Pro Motocross Television Schedule for details.
