Just as the premium motorcycles from Harley-Davidson’s Custom Vehicle Operations are highly anticipated each year, so too is the latest addition to the Icons Collection. The three previous Icon bikes—2021 Electra Glide Electra Glide Revival, 2022 Low Rider El Diablo, and last year’s Electra Glide Highway King—have been fantastic, both functionally and aesthetically. Now, we get the 2024 Harley-Davidson Hydra-Glide Revival.
A celebration of the 75th anniversary of the debut of the Hydra-Glide front suspension—a move from the springer design to the modern telescopic fork—the 2024 Harley-Davidson Hydra-Glide Revival is a traditional touring motorcycle built on the current Softail chassis and based on the Heritage Classic 114. No more than 1750 numbered examples will be built, so let’s review what makes this Softail worthy of Icons Collection status.
Everyone’s eyes will be initially drawn to the badging and two-tone paint. The Harley-Davidson V tank-badges and Hydra-Glide fender badges replicate what you’d find on 1955 and ’56 models. The paint pairs Redline Red and Birch White, duplicating the graphic design used on the 1956 Harley-Davidson E and F models. The lower half of the detachable 21-inch windscreen has a matching Redline Red tint.
The tank-mounted, chrome-framed speedometer has graphics from the 1954 to 1955 era, so you’ll be reminded of the 2024 Harley-Davidson Hydra-Glide Revival’s heritage every time you glance down. More chrome is found on the air cleaner cover, valve covers, exhaust, fork covers, three headlight nacelles, turn indicators, rims, engine guards, seat frame, and handlebar. Yep, there’s no shortage of the shiny stuff.
Black leather fringe highlights the solo seat and saddlebags. There, you’ll find more chrome—the studs and conches. The seat also gets red stitching and white piping. The saddlebags have functional modern touches—key locks, a rigid liner for durability, and water resistance. For those moments when the bike is parked, admirers can note the Icon Collections logo on the rear fender.
2024 Harley-Davidson Hydra-Glide Revival is powered by a Milwaukee-Eight 114 motor breathing through a Screamin’ Eagle High Flow air cleaner. Touring riders will appreciate the standard cruise control, triple LED headlights, and ABS.
Availability of the 2024 Harley-Davidson Hydra Glide Revival should be instantaneous, and the list price is $24,999.
