The configurable Viking Bags Odyssey 80L ADV Touring Luggage System is a large-capacity, rackless soft storage system for adventure touring motorcycles. It has 80 liters of waterproof space divided into three functional areas—two side bags and a top bag. It features six interconnected storage locations for conveniently separating travel and camping gear. A luggage rack is not needed for installation, as it is a self-contained system.

The Viking Bags Odyssey 80L ADV Touring Luggage System consists of the base harness, two panniers, open pouches with lift-out 25-liter drybags, a central 22-liter dry tail-pack/duffle/backpack, a tentpole drybag, and a universal exhaust heatshield. Total storage capacity is 4282 cubic inches (2.5 cubic feet).  If you need more storage, optional four-liter pouches with dry bags are available for $100 each, adding 488 cubic inches to the system’s capacity.

I first encountered Viking Bags while searching for a gas storage holster for the Ultimate Motorcycling Yamaha Ténéré 700 Project Bike. We tested the Viking Bags Dirt Bike Bottle Holster in 2022, and found it durable and convenient to mount and use.

I have been eyeballing Viking Bags’ various Odyssey luggage systems for the Yamaha Ténéré 700 Project Bike since it was released about a year ago. After pulling off my heavy metal pannier racks and tail rack to reduce high-mounted weight, I saw this design layout for carrying my kitchen and sink. I hope the jumbo 80L system will provide the needed storage and improve weight distribution compared to a steel-rack setup. We will soon be obtaining the Viking Bags Odyssey 80L ADV Touring Luggage System for the Ténéré 700 for testing.
