The 2025 Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship Series rolls into the iconic Daytona International Speedway for the 52nd time, and we’re guaranteed to have a first-time winner in the 450SX class at the Daytona Beach venue. With seven-time Daytona victor Eli Tomac and last year’s winner Jett Lawrence out, it’s a wide-open field for the race on the superspeedway’s infield. Let’s look at your best options for your RMFantasySX leagues—I’m sure you want to teach your friends a lesson.
- The podium is starting to look very familiar. In three of the last four rounds, Ken Roczen, Chase Sexton, and Cooper Webb have been standing on the podium. In the previous two rounds, it has been Webb, Roczen, and Sexton, in that order. The only other rider in 2025 with multiple podiums is Jason Anderson, with three P3 finishes to his credit.

- The top spot should go to either Cooper Webb or Chase Sexton. It comes down to your philosophy. Webb has two wins in a row. However, those wins relied on enormous gaffes by Sexton—getting hung up in the Detroit starting gate and an ill-fated, unnecessary final-lap pass in Arlington. So, you have to choose between Webb’s smarts and Sexton’s speed. Sexton won two of the first four rounds, but hasn’t been on top in the last three. Expect Sexton to dedicate himself to putting in a smart ride and take the Daytona Supercross win, with Webb keeping Sexton honest.

- Ken Roczen has admitted that he needs more speed. Roczen has been the runner-up at four of seven rounds. A poorly conceived pass attempt on two lappers in the Tampa sand ended his night in P21, so Roczen is 19 points behind series leader Webb. Roczen is still in the title hunt, though he will have to rely on consistency rather than wins. Roczen is not as fast as Sexton or Webb, so I have Roczen in P3 at Daytona International Speedway.

- The rest of the top five comes down to Jason Anderson and Justin Cooper. Anderson has three podiums, and Cooper has been in the top five in the last three rounds. However, Anderson has been feast or famine as he has no top-five finishes that weren’t P3 results. I still think Anderson can finish in the top five without being on the podium, though he must avoid the errors that have kept him out of the top five in three of the last four rounds. Cooper has the momentum, so I have Cooper in P4 and Anderson taking P5.

- Though they are long shots, there are three more riders to consider for the top five. Malcolm Stewart is on a 1-4-9 roll coming into Daytona. That’s two top-fives, though his momentum is in the wrong direction. Justin Hill grabbed his first top-five of the season last week in Arlington. If Anderson makes another error, Hill could step into the top five. Justin Barcia has the top-five in his sights, but hasn’t made it there yet. Still, a 6-7-6 run sets him up as a potential top-five Daytona Supercross finisher.

- The Daytona Wild Card is P7, so you can refer to my previous list of top-five outsiders. Feel free to also consider Aaron Plessinger. Plessinger has gone 9-8-9-7 over the last four rounds, so P7 could be in the cards. Barcia, Hill, Plessinger, and Stewart are all credible picks. I’m going with Barcia for no particular reason. Remember that my Wild Card picks have not gone well this year, so maybe you should pick anyone but Barcia.

- The racing is back to starting at a familiar time—7 p.m. EST. Check our 2025 Supercross Television Schedule for all the necessary viewing details.
